Christelle currently has her Renaissance on display at the beautiful and distinctive SH Jewellery gallery in Morningside, Edinburgh. Displayed alongside Sarah Hutchison’s own work and collections from around 35 carefully selected designers the gallery promises something new and intriguing for visitors to discover.

Sarah Hutchison graduated from the Edinburgh College of Art in 2004. After graduating Sarah picked up two major awards, The Retail Jeweller Student Designer of the Year and the New Designers Goldsmiths’ Company Award for Silversmithing. Winning a prestigious Dewar Arts Award in 2006 enabled her to travel to places such as Mexico and Munich and to progress her work to pieces such as water jugs and candelabra.

She was a jeweller and silversmith for seven years before opening SH Jewellery in May 2011 after spending 18 months in London’s renowned Hatton Garden managing the sleek, contemporary jewellery gallery, Platform. It was after her experiences gained there that Sarah decided to return to Edinburgh, in search of the perfect location for her own Gallery. Sarah’s designs come from working directly with metal, exploring and experimenting with it to see what develops.

Her work also incorporates semi-precious stones and pearls within her pieces in innovative ways too, resulting in beautiful final pieces which are floral, delicate and feminine in appearance, with a real feeling of spontaneity.
